TUNA TIME ๐ŸŸ

A full-day deep-sea fishing adventure to chase tuna in the open ocean.

โš“ Out of Dana Point Harbor

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Best Time to Go

Tuna fishing is best from summer into fall. Bluefin tuna peak Juneโ€“August, and yellowfin tuna peak Septemberโ€“October.

Our target window: late August through September โ€” the warm El Niรฑo water should have the fish fired up and close to home.

๐Ÿ† The Best Saturday to Go

๐Ÿ‘‰ Saturday, September 19, 2026

It lands right in the peak of yellowfin season, after a whole summer of El Niรฑo warm water has pushed the tuna in close โ€” and bluefin are still around too. Prime time, prime conditions.

Backup Saturdays: Sept 26 (also peak) or Aug 29 (strong bluefin + early yellowfin).

โš“ Heads up: prime fall Saturdays book up fast โ€” reserve early, and we'll confirm the bite is on with the captain closer to the date.

๐Ÿ  What We're Hunting

The deep water off Dana Point holds some serious fighters this time of year:

๐ŸŸ Bluefin Tuna ๐ŸŸก Yellowfin Tuna ๐ŸŒˆ Dorado (Mahi) ๐Ÿ’› Yellowtail

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Crew note: Our group is 7 people. The smaller private boats fit up to 6, so to keep everyone on one boat we'd ride with Dana Wharf โ€” or we trim to 6 for a smaller private charter. Full days are long (boats often leave around 5am!) so bring layers, snacks, sunscreen, and your sea legs. ๐ŸŒ
